Eco-connected consciousness and the knowledge of affect

Central to Soma of the Land are vibrant 3D animations in collaboration with Caroline Ovando and wro wrzesinska, and a haunting soundscape by Nicole Bettencourt Coelho. This piece explores how psychic ways of knowing emerge from the body as a porous, thinking, and dreaming entity—an intensity of feeling that weaves consciousness beyond the self and into the living world.

There is no separation between the inner landscapes of visions, dreams, and meditations and the so-called "outer" world of earth, water, and life. These images are not just personal; they are a dialogue, a communication between entities we have been taught to see as separate—human and non-human, body and land, self and ecology.

In the piece, the body becomes a channel, not confined to physicality but extending into the shared currents of affect that connect us to the land and its networks. Soma of the Land is an invitation to rethink these connections, to unlearn the rigid taxonomies that divide us, and to feel into the way the living world speaks through and with us.

Feel how the body, like the land, holds stories, knowledge, and futures.
